Hi,

We are encountering an issue related to Crystal Report 2008.

We recently switch from x86 to 64 systems.

We suddenly have reports, where spaces are added before periods.

In general at the end of sentences. It only occur by generating PDFs.

Could you help us to solve the issue? Is there a general solution?

Best Regards,

To avoid the effort of changing the font across multiple reports, there are RPT Management Tools (see list here) that can help.

Here is a video demo of mass updating of fonts using my Visual CUT software.

There was an issue reported in XI R2 but it was fixed in CR 2008.

Internal document: 1431000 - Additional space before full stop(.) when exporting a Crystal Xir2 report to pdf

What is the version of Crystal Reports 2008 you have?

Hi,

we are using the version 12.3.0.601.

The Document you posted seems to be offline.

Could update the link please?

As I mentioned earlier, the KBA is Internal only to document the reproducible defect.

It is for more than 12 years old version and I cannot make it external. Believe me there is no resolution there other than update to CR 2008.

You wrote that you are using CR 2008 version 12.3.0.601 and still facing the issue.

I have two suggestions:

1. See if you have "TrimTrailingSpace" key added in your registry

2. Try to rename usp10.dll located in Business Objects folder to usp10.old. It will make Crystal Reports to load the text rendering engine from the Windows and may fix the problem.

Hi,

by changing from arial to arial unicode ms, it seems to works.

But we would like to use the traditional one, because we would have so much reports to change.
