Uncommitted write transaction

Hi,

I am trying to kill a transaction with command ALTER SYSTEM DISCONNECT SESSION but session is not getting killed.

My HANA version = 1.00.111.00

Already read many notes :

2092196 - How-To: Terminating Sessions in SAP HANA) but session stays alive.

1977276 - How to handle HANA Alert 48: 'Check a long-running uncommitted write transaction'

1849392 - HANA alerts related to locks, hanging sessions and long runners

Is there a way to force the cancel or disconnect?

Whether or not it's possible to cancel/abort a session depends on the state the session is currently in. The session itself has to react to the cancel-flag and terminate itself. In case the session is currently not active, e.g. waiting for a lock it cannot check for a flag and thus cannot end itself.

In cases like this, the session cannot be safely terminated and the only way to get rid of it is to restart the HANA instance.

Thanks Lars for your response. Indeed , only a restart solved the issue.
