Visual Studios 2020 CR Viewer won't run in legacy programs

Since updating to SAP Crystal Reports version for Microsoft Visual Studio(13.0.28.3597), legacy reports created in .NET will not open unless the new version of the viewer is installed. Is there an older version of CR for Visual Studio that will allow the older reports to run without upgrading literally hundreds of reports and machines at the same time? Or is there code that can be inserted in the program to allow the older version to run? I have tried changing the app.config with <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true"> Any other suggestions short of doing a mass company-wide change? I have reverted back to my old computer with the version that works for the installed programs for now.

Hi Anita,

To be clear you are using CR 2020 correct? There is no VS 2020 yet, I checked.

Installing CR 2020 will update the runtime file your application may be using.

Need to know what CR for VS patch you have installed?

Go to Programs and Features and look for the .NET runtime and the version.

That Legacy line is for Database Drivers only, remove it if it wasn't there before.
