Hello aarti.shinde

The system prevents changes to valuation class once a material has stock to prevent inconsistencies between MM and FI. Valuation class drives posting of the material to FI.

The least you need to do is to zero stock of the material. You can for instance issue entire stock to a cost center. Make sure to align that with your FI people. Then you should be able to change the valuation class. After the change you need to reverse the material document with which you've zeroed the stock.

Refer to the following notes for details:

1967543 - Error M3 368 occurs when you change valuation class in transaction MM02. - general explanations.

30656 - Change base unit of measure/batch management requirement - requirements to change base unit of measure and valuation class are basically the same.

160970 - Change valuation class: production order/purchase order - in case it's not only the stock but also production/purchaser orders that are blocking the valuation class change.

Best regards

Hi aarti.shinde,

You can change valuation class in MM02; IF you don't have stock or any account assigned PR or PO open (delete the line items of all the open POs).

In case if you have stock, make it zero with transaction MI10, and change valuation class, and re enter stock using same MI10.
