Also, while Crystal XI came with the install for the .NET SDK, Crystal 2016 did not. If you're using a version of Visual Studio that's earlier than VS 2010, the SDK should have been an install option. If you're using VS 2010 or newer, you need to download the latest version of the SDK from the Crystal for VS wiki. You'll also need to make some changes to your code - all of which are outlined in the wiki.

Hello Dell,
As I understood I need to download latest .NET SDK as in our environment using VS 2005,2008,2010 ,2012,2013 and 2015 for CR SP6? , so now I installed SP28,so this will work or not?
also please share me some details about below
- What type of change should done on my code as we use ASP files ?
- What about crystal report viewer should install it on the server? if yes which version should install?
Thanks in advance.
The latest version of the SDK will only work with VS 2010 or newer. Also, looking at your code, it appears that you're using the old RDC component and not the .NET SDK. That component is no longer available or licensed, so your code will have to be completely re-written to use .NET. There is no longer a way to integrate with plain ASP. There are links to sample code available in the wiki that I linked above. What I've seen done in the past is the creation of a single .NET page to run Crystal as part of a larger ASP application. You would pass various information required to run the report (.rpt location, parameters, db logon info, etc.) to the .NET page so that the report will run and the page can be re-used for multiple reports.

Hi Dell,
Thanks for your clarification but i need more clarification about this point that you mentioned above.
What I've seen done in the past is the creation of a single .NET page to run Crystal as part of a larger ASP application. You would pass various information required to run the report (.rpt location, parameters, db logon info, etc.) to the .NET page so that the report will run and the page can be re-used for multiple reports.
Yes that fine , but
- Is this way will work now when migrated to CR 2016 or not?
-Is the only issue with RDC component ? and what is your recommendation for this?
Thanks,
Hani
The major issue is the RDC component - it is no longer available and is currently unlicensed. The only SDKs that are currently available for viewing reports on the web are:
.NET SDK: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads
Java SDK for Eclipse: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/SAP+Crystal+Reports+version+for+Eclipse+-+Downloads and https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports+for+Eclipse
The links above take you to the download sites and include links to sample code for the respective SDKs.
