Restoring BOBJ CMS and Filestore on the same machine from previous backup

I have seen various blogs on to restore CMS DB and filestore on the same machine and a new machine from backups in a 4.x version. But I have a question;

Do you need to delete the node from CMS DB (delete from cms_infoobjects7 where parentid=16 or parentid=59;) whether you're recreating the node on the same machine or separate machine or this is only necessary if you are restoring BOBJ on a totally separate machine (not existing BOBJ server)?
