Approve Notification Button not appearing in old Notifications

Hi,

I have activated the "Approval required" check box on the PM Notification.But the buttons are reflecting only on the newly created notifications and not on the older ones. just want to know why?

Just to clarify, if i make a customizing change like activate "Approval required" in the notification overview, and when i do IW21, there are 2 new buttons appearing which is fine as expected. But when i look into an existing notification i cant see those buttons. Is it standard SAP behavior?

I just tried it in my system and its the same i.e. it does not activate the Approval functionality pre-existing notifications.

My guess is this is because the Approval: Requiredstatus (APRQ) is set on creation on new notifications, and this status is missing from older notifications.

You could try activating the APRQ status on OSNO notifications (via ABAP program) to see if that triggers the functionality.

OK - I did a very quick test by adding status I0525 to table JEST (via program) and it worked.

This is not recommended - but if you do choose to do this, then make sure you thoroughly test in a non-production environment first.
