Using dimensions within the DWC Story Builder doesn't work

Hi all,

I'm facing a problem with dimensions in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.

I created several datasets with type "Dimension" as dimension tables. I also created a datasets with type "Analytical Dataset" which contains my relevant measures as a fact table. My goal is to build a report in the Story Builder where I can analyze the measures using the existing dimensions and hierarchies.

My problem is that the Story Builder in DWC obviously doesn't support dimensions. In the Story Builder, you can only use datasets of type "Analytical Dataset", so it's no problem to load my fact table, but I can't bring it together with the dimension tables.

I tried to join them in advance in a new Analytical Dataset and load this one, but now I only have all dimension attributes as normal attributes within this dataset and the hierarchies are lost.

Am I correct that it's currently not possible to use the created dimensions in the DWC Story Builder? And if yes, is this something you're aware of and you plan to adjust in the future? It would be nice to have that feature in order to build Stories as good as in the "normal" SAC (which supports dimensions and hierarchies)

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Katrin

Hi Katrin,

you can associate your dimensions to your analytical dataset. Scroll down in the properties of your "consumable" view and add one or multiple dimensions.

Then it looks like this example and they can be used in the story.
