EU Country flag tick for Country code – GB and Intrastat Reporting in GB

As per SAP Note – 2749671, it is required to deactivate EU flag for UK in Table T005 (definition of countries) for BREXIT

My assumption is that, by deactivating EU flag for UK, it will stop Intrastat Reporting.

But, As per HMRC site, we require to continue Intrastat reporting

Query – If the EU flag is unticked, how do we continue Intrastat reporting?

Please suggest.

Dear all,

Do we have an update regarding the below, its still not clear how to produce the Intrastat Report after deactivating the EU Flag? Is anyone aware of any workaround?

Thank you all in advance,

Anastasia

Hi Mahesh,
i was asked the same question by my client some days ago and as i did not find any official information from SAP i just investigated the current code, finding out the following:

- for Dispatch / Export reporting with ENPA just the destination country (vbrk-land1) is checked for EU membership, the plant and the reporting country are not checked for EU membership

- for Arrivals / Import reporting with VI98 / ENPA just the country of dispatch gets checked for EU membership, furthermore it will be checked if the goods recipient is located in the reporting country, but the reporting country itself is not checked for EU membership

So SAP's previous intrastat code adjustments for Brexit like the addition of the hard coded brexit date (last update:https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2874323) only affects if supplies from GB or to GB will be taken in consideration for the intrastat reports of the other countries. So if that Brexit date would be set to 31.12.2020, these supplies will not appear anymore in the intrastat reports of other countries from beginning of January. Reports for Brexit month and previous will still contain GB supplies as the code then sets XEGLD for GB back to 'X'.

Hard-coded brexit date does not affect the GB declarations themselves, they can still be generated independently and contain all imports / exports from / to other EU countries, as the reporting country is not checked for EU membership. So i was even able to create arrival as well as dispatch intrastat reports for the US in my clients system.

The only open question i still have, is how to handle the reporting for Northern Ireland as there will be no separate country code for it (at least i guess so). Do you know if it is maybe possible to determine by the region if a supply is from or to Northern Ireland? I assume HMCR wants separate reports for GB and Northern Ireland as the Norther Ireland wants also need to be done for a much longer time period.

I hope that gives you a suggestion of how you can continue GB intrastat reporting. Let's see maybe there will be something official from SAP regarding this topic. I'm at least waiting for the latest SAP note setting the hard coded brexit date correctly

Best regards
Benedikt

Hi,

Several sources are mentioning country code XI to be used for Northern Ireland for intrastat. However, I find no information from SAP how to handle this country code in general and intrastat especially.

Karin

Hi Karin,

thanks for your answer.

I assume that SAP is waiting with the publishment of some SAP notes until the results out of the negotiation between the EU und GB are 100% clear. Hopefully they reach an agreement soon, so that we can prepare for it.

Best regards
Benedikt
