Language Code "4G-Swiss German" missing in SAP C4C

Dear C4C Experts,

We have our C4C integrated with SAP S4 system, and the Switzerland customers are loaded in S4 with the language code 4G. But the same standard language code 4G is missing in C4C.

Because of the missing code, the C4C inbound webservices are failing.

I checked all the configuration and fine tuning settings, and I could not find the right language code in C4C. There is also no option to perform code list transformation. Has anyone faced this issue before, and any hints are highly appreciated.

Since C4C provides all the ISO complaint language code hence you cannot see 4G (swiss german) code neither there is any option to customize it.

However, in order to avoid failure of the message you have 2 options:

    1. Map the 4G (swiss german) with existing language code or reserve code like Z1 and rename the text of Z1 via "Language Adaptations".

    2. Map the field within middleware mapping itself so that C4C receives valid language code without Code list Mapping at C4C side.

    • Brilliant!! Thanks for your support.

This code list mapping will definitely help us fixing the failed webservice messages. But in a long run, we need extended language code support in C4C just like in the on-premise systems. This is one such case where we have a workaround, but thinking about Benelux, Austria - each has their own extended language codes in ECC & S4. We will face similar issues when we use extended language codes in S4 system.

I have created the below idea in the influence portal, please do vote for it...

Just got the confirmation from SAP support team through an incident, that the code list mapping for "LanguageCode" is never considered for external integration scenarios.

Since C4C strictly follows ISO codes, for language codes in all of our interfaces we do not parse them through code list mappings, whatever values are sent in the payload are considered directly. And since the system strictly follows ISO codes, this is why we do not have an option to create new language codes in C4C. Not an ideal solution, hence we have to wait for the SAP Idea to be looked into.....
