SAP Data Services 4.2 SP14 & SAP IQ 16.1 SP03

Hello,

The current architecture consists of SAP Data services and SAP IQ installed on the same server.

I am considering the version upgrade.

I found that the version of IQ supported by DS 4.2 SP14 (IQ 16.1 SP02) is not supported on Windows Server 2016 while the later version (16.1 SP03) is supported on Windows Server 2016 but seems not supported by DS 4.2 SP14 .

We also want to upgrade to the latest version of the operating system, which we would like to bring to Windows Server 2016.

Does anyone know if IQ version 16.1 SP03 is supported by DataServices 4.2 SP14 or if IQ version 16.1 SP02 can run on Windows Server 2016?

Thanks,

Denis

Hi there,

according to the SAP Data Services "what's new" document of SP14, the compatibility is mentioned as follows (https://help.sap.com/doc/9f6d1ace8e0043698e51204d0b337ea6/4.2.14/en-US/ds_42_whats_new_en.pdf - page 33):

"Sybase IQ 16.1 SP2 and SP3 - Works with source and target tables" since 4.2 SP11

Furthermore, Sybase IQ 16.1 SP02 is not compatible with Windows Server 2016 according to the PAM.

Since the DS PAM itself is not mentioning a compatibility with Sybase IQ 16.1 SP03 yet, all you can really do now is either wait for proper mentioning of compatibilities in the DS PAM or follow the what's new, if source and target table compatibility is all you need. Hence, going for DS 4.2 SP14 and IQ16.1 SP03 on Windows 2016.

Julian

Hi Julian,

based on what you wrote we tried different configurations.

Finally the combination DS 4.2 SP14 Patch 2 and IQ 16.1 SP04 Patch 3 on Windows 2016 worked.

Thanks for your support,

Denis

Hi

Can anyone tell me when the mainstream ends for Data Services and Information Steward 4.2 SP14. This is to plan any upgrade that may be required. It is installed on Windows 2012 Standard server.

Thanks
