How to copy Char. and its values for Variant Product from one plant to another

Dear Expert,

We are working on ECC-R3 System. We need to copy the batch Characteristic and its values from one plant to another for variant products in same company code. The materials are not batch managed.

These variant products has been assigned with Configurable Material in MRP-3 view, showing the respective characteristic values assigned in one plant. The same characteristic values requires to be copied / extended for same material in another plant.

Is there any standard T code OR Any FM or BAPI to perform this activity?

Waiting for your valuable reply!

ni2,

work with your technical team/ consulting partner , they can easily create a program to take input from excel file and update materials based upon input. In you case as the values are similar it would be easy so read the materials mention in excel file , store configuration record in internal table and update same MATNR MRP3 view with the data from internal table.

Please close the the thread if you got the answer, also please up-vote the replies if it help you.

Thanks

ni2,

If the second material do not have MRP views created just use MM01 and copy from same material as reference material.

If the MRP view is already created you need to manually input the values in MM02. You can still open the 2 screens and easily copy and paste from one window to another window.

If this activity needed for long list of material , created a BDC or LSMW to perform the job.

Thanks

Hi Ritesh,Thanks for your reply.

The limitation for using BDC or LSMW is someone has to maintain the data for hundredes of materials and their char. values. I have material available with char. value in one plant and the same char. value to be copied for same material in another plant w/o maintaining data in file for upload..

Hope. the requirement is clear.

Hi Ritesh,

If we opt for LSMW, it won't accept beyond 10 char. in batch recording method.

Please check and suggest.
