Depreciation on WBS - asset setup - does not exist on 20.08.2020

Dear Advisors,

We are creating a new asset and tagging it to a WBS at the Cost Center field. We have done this all the time, but this time, we encounter an error message:

Cost center AUKY123455 does not exist on 20.08.2020 [message no. KI222].

This WBS do exist and it is on REL // ZPRJ ZWPL status, looking at the error message, it seems to mean that there was a validity date but I'm not able to find which TCode to use to check.

Please advise.

Hello yvonne.lum

It seems that you are trying to enter the value of WBS Element into a field for Cost Center and that is why there is an error message that :

Cost center AUKY123455 does not exist on 20.08.2020 [message no. KI222].

You need to enter the value of a WBS element into a field of WBS Element, since the fields are linked to a specific table field and you cannot enter a WBS Element value into a field for WBS Element.

Hi Sanil,

Thank you for looking into my query. My company set up WBS for the usage in both Cost Center and WBS for all Assets. Hence, we enter two separate WBS code in the Time-Dependent tab (Cost Center) and Origin tab (WBS element).

So, we don't have issues in entering WBS element in Cost Center fields. Is there any place I can check on dates setup on WBS?

Thanks.

Best Regards

Yvonne

Hello yvonne.lum

I am not sure, if the WBS Element validity dates would help since the error is related to cost center.

However, you can check WBS Element in CJ20N. Give the project definition and levels below project level you can check the WBS element.

However, i am still lost why would you enter a WBS Element in the field for Cost center unless your code for WBS element and cost center is same, so that system automatically assumes that the value you have entered is that of cost center. In that case, it would check for cost center master, which should than be checked in KO02

Thanks & regards
