Customer Upload - CSV File

Hello Experts,

I've two questions can you pls help in getting the answers to my questions?

1. When we upload the contacts/interactions/accounts into SMC, is there a way to determine from where the data is loaded like D&B, C4C, Other ERP system i.e. IdOrgin? do we need to configure data origin for every data source in the system? or can we just put any value which will be loaded into SMC?

2. Id: How can we put the value of id into the CSV file? can we use any value or do we need to follow any guideline?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

    Hi Venu,

    1. Yes you should configure an own Origin for every source system that you connect to SAP Marketing Cloud. Using that URL https://my123456.s4hana.ondemand.com/ui#OriginContactID-configure you can have a look at the ID Origins that are available in your system and can create new ones.

    2. For the ID you can use an ID of your choice (as far as I know MaxLength=255).

    Hi Venu,

Also take a look at this video, it's still one of the best ones imo about SAP Marketing Cloud, it explains the origins concept very well:
