SAP EWM PMR

Dear Experts,

After staging Process order the PMR document got created in EWM and I want to create Warehouse task and Order as next steps.

But surprisingly couldn't find warehouse task option in /n/SCWM/PMR transaction in top menu PMR --> Follow on functions is greyed out.

I know using NWBC or Fiori we can but, unfortunately we are not using Fiori and NWBC is not working properly.

Can anybody tell me how to create?

Appreciate your suggestions.

Regards,

Jan

Believe below steps have to follow for PMR process:

  • Creation of production order(CoR1/Co01)
  • Release production order(Cor2)
  • Review production material request (PMR)(/SCWM/PMR)
  • Material staging(Cor2)
  • Process warehouse task and warehouse order
  • Production consumption
  • Production order goods movement review
  • Production confirmation(Cor2)
  • Production goods receipt
  • Production order review

Hi,

there are two ways to create WTs for PMRs:

- you either use the app "Staging for Production" (and yes, this is an HTML transaction, so there is no TA code, you can open it from the GUI (if it is in your user menu), and AFAIK it is only released for BC (which works well for me).

- or use the TA /SCWM/STAGE (schedule staging for production) (which is meant for background scheduling, but can also be processed manually).

That's how it works for a PMR.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Dear Mr Pitz,

is it correct, that you only have to release the production order (CO01/CO02) to get a PMR or do you have to use the manual staging functionality (WM Staging (Pull) List) within CO01/ CO02?

Hi,

"is it correct, that you only have to release the production order (CO01/CO02) to get a PMR or do you have to use the manual staging functionality (WM Staging (Pull) List) within CO01/ CO02?"

... I have no idea right now... The advanced production integration was build for the process industry in mind. It is not limited to it, technically it works with production orders as well - but I have never tested this, only ever worked with process orders :-). And there you have to trigger the staging (as there is no process profile).

I have to try... Or did you?

Hi,

we tried so.

In addition, SAP Help doesn't say anything about -> it's only valid for "process orders".

There is one sentence within documentation which let's us assume it should work "automatically"

https://help.sap.com/viewer/9832125c23154a179bfa1784cdc9577a/1909.000/en-US/c399eb535cbb5d1ee1000000...

<<<

Production Material request

...

The system creates a production material request when SAP ERP sends a message containing the required information from production. SAP ERP sends this message when the manufacturing order is released, and WM material staging is triggered, either automatically or in the Production Order Change transaction, either by choosing Function WM Material Staging Execute, or by clicking the WM Material Staging button.

...

>>>

But, it doesn't work and we already checked all the prerequisites (see "Staging and Consumption for Production" in the same documentation).

Any idea?

P.S. We are on S4-1709 SP00 and embedded EWM

Hello robert.gompper ,

you are correct, nowhere it is said that PMR only works for production order. As I wrote, it was build with process orders in mind, and so in the scenarios we build in our trainings, we only use process orders.

But I now tried with a production order - and, well, it worked for me on the first try. I released and saved the production order and the system immediately created the PMR (this is a decentralized EWM, based on S/4HANA 1909, the ERP system is a ECC 6.0 - but that should work the same with embedded EWM).

All I got is a production scheduling profile with "WM Request" set to 2 - "Transfer Reqmt, Transfer Order, and Delivery Upon Rel" (where the last part is the important piece).

Hello juergen.pitz,

you made my day 🙂

As you mentioned in your last sentence, the "WM Request" in the production profile ist the key to solve the problem, especially the last part.

<<<

All I got is a production scheduling profile with "WM Request" set to 2 - "Transfer Reqmt, Transfer Order, and Delivery Upon Rel" (where the last part is the important piece).

>>>

Our WM Request was set to 1 - "Transfer Requirement and Transfer Order on Release" because we thought the "... and Delivery Upon Release" statement from "WM Request 2" forces staging process with "Delivery Based Production Supply" (see SAP Help documentation - Overview of Production Integration Types).

Thanks a lot for your help 🙂

Hi robert.gompper ,

ok, I see where the confusion comes from - but this settings is much older then EWM, this was already whenever a kind of delivery was required. But there is of course no transfer requirement or transfer order, so that (X or 1) should never be the correct choice.
