How do i change the start cycle of maitenance plan which is already created?

schedulescreen.jpgDear Team,

Please need your advise and assistance here

I created a maintenance plan and already been scheduled for 01.10.2020 (Given Frequency :1M, Given start of cycle:01.09.2020) . But now the end user comes back and says they need it to start from 01.09.2020. I need to re-schedule it on 1st of next month. Where could i do it .

What i tried : Tried to give NEW START in tcode IP10 ..clicked on skip and gave the new date (i.e previous date:01.08.2020 so it would start from next month ) . And it gave me the attached view which says

01.10.2020 1M NEW Start Skipped

01.11.2020 1M Scheduled Skipped and so on (attached screenshot )

Can you please advise me what exactly should have done in this case.

Thanks & Regards,

Are there only 4 calls in IP10?

Kevin,

The problem we are facing is that we cannot see enough of the IP10 calls to understand what is going on (you only show calls 1 to 4).

Can you either send a screen-shot of all of the IP10 calls, or the IP24 list please.

Hi Kevin,

Always remember one thing, when you re-schedule, if you say skip then the Hold calls will show has skipped.

Rather than when you re-schedule, if you say delete, then all the hold calls will be removed from IP10.

If you have saved the plan by skipping it, no way it can be reverted, so try to create a new plan in case if you dont want to have any confusion.

In both cases, if the plan has already called any order, then those calls, you cannot remove it from schedule.

Terence

Hi Peter,

Thanks for a response ! Appreciate it !

No there are more since the schedule year was given for 3yr so until 2023 its there.

I only need to start the PPM from 1st of next month i.e 01-09-2020.

Kevin,

Good news..

You are correct, the skipped calls will not generate an order - they are only there for reference or audit purposes.

If you dont need the skipped calls when performing a New Start, then there is popup with an option to "delete". In this case the redundant "On Hold" calls will be deleted (rather than set to "Skipped").

Hi Kevin,

Can you see the call number 13 in your current maintenance plan. I am sure this must have the current date 01.09.2020 with status "New Start Hold" .

In my opinion , in this case , Certain call got skipped and saved, now we can not remove these from the list, as system already updated these and marked skipped .

So when you are trying with "New start" option , system will start with call no 13 .]with the new date.

Hi Sandeep,

Yes! You were right . I scrolled the list and found that on call number 36 shows 01.09.2020 which means PPM will be issued from next month as per my end user.

Attaching screenshot for your reference. Appreciate your all time support. Am learning things with you.

The skipped items wont impact on the plan right?

Hi Kevin.

Please try with other option while you do New start , With Delete history option ( Considering these are New Maintenance Plans in your systems) . You will probably get the date as per requirement .

But you need to keep few things in mind ,

1. Check with users if they needs these history ?

2. Will it have any impact on audit or internal documentation process ?

3. How many such maintenacne plans required these changes .

Please do this activity on your QA syatem and run maintenance plan simulation before making any bulk changes .

Hi Sandeep,

How are you? Yes ! The solution you preferred totally worked and its solved the issue for one of the maintenance plan which had the same issue.

For another one i had clicked on START IN CYCLE first and given the date. After that its showing the plan date as 01.10.2020 status as NEW START SKIPPED.

After that I tried the same solution you gave(which worked for another one) by clicking on NEW START and selecting delete and gave the date 01.08.2020 (so that plan start on 01.09.2020) as start of cycle but still its showing the same

All these are new plan which has not yet started . So i need to make sure it starts from 01.09.2020. Only this one is giving this status which i don't understand whether the date is set to start from 01.09.2020 or not

Please help me counter this issue mate
