Hello,
I need to validate with experienced admins the possible migration scenarios in my landscape.
I currently have a HANA 1.0 SPS12 SDC with HSR Dell will deliver us a brand new Server with the lastest HANA version (SPS04). After some search, i found two possible ways to migrate on this new server :
- Backup/restore : Restore a backup from HANA 1 to the new HANA 2 database, conversion to HANA 2 take place during restoration. Downtime duration : hard to estimate because of the conversion
- NZDU with replication : It is actually not possible to replicate a SDC to a MDC, so i need to convert my HANA 1.0 to MDC (./hdblcm --action=convert_to_multidb), configure a replication 1.0 MDC to 2.0 MDC and perform a takeover. Downtime duration : i need to stop the DB during MDC conversion and additionate the small takeover downtime.
Can you confirm i'm on the good way ?
Thanks a lot
