2008 Upgrade- More information on Advance search enhancement

Hi SAP community,

As per the C4C upgrade briefing document, search fields such as 'Created by' and 'Changed by' within reports has been enhanced to filter results based on Employee IDs of the selected person, however, I am unable to understand this default feature. Could you please help me and explain this change?

Hi Shenu,

The enhancement on Created By / Changed By fields was done for lists in Business Analytics, for example, when you go to the work center view Design Data Sources. Here you see the list of all available data sources and in the advanced filter, you can set filters for creator of a data source.

In the past, these fields were based on employee names, i.e. text fields. Such filters worked fine, however there were some issues when you saved such filters for example. Since 2008, we have created new Created By / Changed By fields which are based on the employee ID. For example in the Design Data Source view you will find the field "Created By (Employee ID)" now. You can now make multiple selections for employee IDs, save such queries, make them default etc without issues.
