MRP activations differences

Question to community, is transaction OMDU still needed to be processed for activation of MRP for a plant? So far It is needed for reorderpoint material only as MRP type triggers MRP live activation, is valid statement? any thoughts?

First of all, welcome to the MAN Production Planning space in the SAP Community!

It is no longer necessary to activate MRP in SAP S/4HANA, neither to run Classic MRP or MRP Live.

The planning file set up is still necessary, especially if you are migrating from ECC to S/4HANA.

thanks Caetano, so far it seems all is run directly out of IMG, but I suppose it would be necessary to config some mandatory settings in IMG right ?

You should be able to configure MRP just by going through the IMG activities.
