ABAP RESTful programming model for brownfield sceanrio

Hi,

We are planning to build an App using the ABAP RESTful programming model. (which we are planning to release by 21 09)

However, while doing initial analysis we have found some limitations, when it comes to numbering, draft etc.

Considering that we are planning to deliver this Apps in a year, is it a good idea to go with the RAP.

OR

Should we just build Apps using the Fiori programming model.

Regards,

Vivek.

    Hi Vivek,

stay tuned for the upcoming delivery of SAP Cloud Platform, ABAP Environment 2008 which is scheduled for mid of August.

Then you will have the chance to try out draft capabilities and you will be able to judge whether it fit your needs.

Since in SAP Cloud Platform, ABAP environment we always ship the latest features every three months you will be able to try out features in 2021 that will become part of the on premise shipment in 2021.

    Best Regards,

    Andre

They do ask for Fiori model and later migrate to RAP. Personally RAP is elegant but don't agree with the FIori templates and annotation based UI inside CDS views.

So, you may continue Fiori model with managed scenarios but RAP is a different game and be prepared for changes IMO when they bring it for S/4.
