WC operation time vs shift time

Dear Experts,

I have 2 shifts defined in my wc, S1 - 6.92 hr and s2 7 hr. But my wc operation time is from 07:00:00 am to 16:00:00 pm (8.33 hrs). Also in intervals above appears with standard available capacity 'X' interval. How does it effect the scheduling/capacity planning ? Do I need to change wc operation time according to shifts? What is the impact?

Hello,

When you assign the shift to the work center then during the order scheduling system consider the timing from shift.

If no shift assignment then system consider the standard available capacity in your case it is 07:00:00 am to 16:00:00.

That means even if the wc operation time is mentioned wrongly, it has no effect on scheduling as I have maintained the proper shifts?

But is it recommended to have the operation time/break time in sync with the intervals, shifts and breaks?

Hello,

Yes thats right if you have a valid shift assignment.

I have not yet seen any such recommendation to have the operation time/break time in sync with the intervals, shifts and breaks.

May be you can define standard capacity 24 hrs working in this case.
