SAP Marketing Cloud - Employee Segmentation

Hello,

We are looking to use segmentation in Marketing Cloud for internal communication (mainly employee emails and calls). Can Employee be used for segmentation, or do we need to create a contact for each employee in order to use segmentation? if we have to create the employees as contacts then how can we differentiate the contact as employee? if we plan to interface ECC employee data to maintain this information can we use any API / CPI mapping?

    Hi Vin,

    Yes, it would be a great idea to create a CF as IsEmployee field to mark those contacts are employee.

    You can try setting up this and if you face any error, you can always report an SAP incident.

    • Kunal, thanks for the reply one question when I was checking the objects that can be loaded into Marketing cloud using CSV file is listed below, but there is no Interaction Contact. So should I use Contacts with a custom field?

    Dear Vin,

    You can use SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC) for this use case.

    You need to replicate the Contacts/Employee data in the SMC system, use API_MKT_CONTACT_SRV or API_MKT_INTERACTION_CONTACT_SRV.

    • Thanks Kunal for the reply. Even i was thinking of using Interaction contacts but how can we differentiate the interaction contact and normal contact in segmentation? do we need to create a new custom field like check box "Is employee" for interaction contact?

      Pls help by answering...
