Greetings
Is there a way to round the output of a statistical forecast?
My stat forecast is based on the sales history - when running the forecast model, for some products I get an output 217 or 250 whereas the lot size should be a minimum of 900.
I understand that I can use the Rounding or Minimum functionalites but that all occurs after I would run the heuristic. I would like my statistical forecast to consider lot size or rounding.
Please advise.
Regards,
Mohammad
Hi Mohammad,
Rounding is not available for forecasting algorithms. But as you already mentioned, you can easily have this resolved by defining minimum/rounding production lot sizes for this product - location combination and run the heuristic algorithm. The receipts will then be 900 in this scenario.
Also, if you'd apply such significant rounding to the final calculated Statistical Forecast key figure, consequently you'd affect the quality of the future results of the forecasting algorithms.
Best regards,
Matheus

Hi Matheus
Thank you for confirming this approach.
I agree, rounding at the Forecast level will have consequneces.
