Failed to open the connection error

There is a shared computer at my place of work that 4 employees use. All but 1 of them are able to run Crystal Reports. They each use their own profile to sign into Windows. The person that is not able to gets a Failed to open the connection error. He has never been able to run them on this computer. I have checked his default app settings and the .rpt files are set to open with rptViewer. I have checked the permissions settings and he has the same permissions as the other users. This computer also only has the rptViewer and no the full on Crystal Reports application.I have zero experience with Crystal Reports and i would like to know how else i can troubleshoot this problem. I appreciate any help. This computer is Windows 7 64bit.
