It is extremely difficult to specify the timelines unless bit more details are known. It depends on your migration scenario, the number of interfaces and applications that you are consuming, the sizing of the database, financial year, number of users, the new server you might want to use just to name a few of the parameters. The migration can only be done at the end of a financial year. You may want to look at the OSS Note for FAQ on New GL Migration, which might clarify some of the questions you would have.

In one of my new GL Migration with an Industry solution and about 15 TB of data on HANA database and with document splitting and customer using special ledger, the project took about 6 months including five rounds of migration before the actual migration. The client also had virtualization of server. Again, to be very clear it depends on your client's scenario and you should look at the OSS Note I have already mentioned earlier and speak to your customer to arrive at a reasonable timeframe for conversion.
