I do not understand why you seek help from SD functional consultants for tasks which are typically handled by system administrators 🙂

As a start - correlation does not necessarily mean causation. The first step is to make sure that the only thing that changed is Adobe Acrobat update and not other applications, Windows updates, etc.

Also, if I had to troubleshoot such problem, I would test after resetting the security settings in SAPGUI, I would test with an account with administrative privileges in order to minimize the impact of insufficient rights to perform a specific action.

Another important thing is to test with different SAPGUI patch levels (I assume that you have 7.60, but which PL - it is not clear. Try also with the latest available patch from the Support Portal, it could be that the problem was already solved in a newer patch. It does not hurt to try with older PL as well, it may be a recently introduced bug. I would also try with a clean installation of SAPGUI.

Of course, you can also try with a different PDF software - if this works correctly, at least you have some workaround other than using an older PDF software version until the problem is fixed.

By the way, if you search notes in the support portal for sapgui crash and filter the result by FAQ, How To and Help for error analysis you will find a few useful notes that can shed some light on what is going on.

It still makes a lot of sense to ask your local administrator to help you, they probably have more experience in troubleshooting SAPGUI problems than most functional consultants.
