Fiori FE Role Menu Not being displayed When you have catalog assigned

We have a role that has a catalog assigned to it. You can see the catalog name under the Role menu but when you expand it you do not get a list.

This is currently stopping us from transporting a new tile to quality system as we cannot get it to show up in PFCG

When you do display catalog it works just fine.

Any Ideas on a solution.

The catalog showing up under the Role menu but not expandable simply means that you might not have checked the Include Applications checkbox while adding the catalog to the role - this means that the relevant OData service authorizations (for the Fiori apps included in the catalog being added) are not automatically added to the role's authorizations. I don't really think this should prevent you from transporting your new tile added in the catalog to the QA system, even though you may be needed to manually add the required OData service authorizations in the role before you transport it.

    Hi Wayne

Can you please check if you have S_RFC access to the following (especially the PFCG create, change, display items RFCs):

    • /UI2/CATALOG_PFCG PFCG nodetype 'Catalog'
    • /UI2/CATALOG_PFCG_APP_GRP_DTL Provide details of sub-applications of the CHIP catalog
    • /UI2/CATALOG_PFCG_CHANGE Change Chip Catalog
    • /UI2/CATALOG_PFCG_CREATE Create Chip Catalog
    • /UI2/CATALOG_PFCG_DISPLAY Display Chip Catalog
    • /UI2/CATALOG_PFCG_EXECUTE Call Fiori Launchpad Designer From PFCG
    • /UI2/CAT_PROV_ID_SH Search Help Exit for CHIP Name

You won't see it in a trace file but these RFCs are called to read the catalog entries and import the executable information

You also need access the S_AGR* authorization for items in menu as that is checked for each executable within the catalog

    Regards

    Colleen

    Hi ,

I too have similar situation like Wayne's issue.

For few catalogs , Odata services are automatically pulled in to role menu -> Catalog-> odata service (ex in pic -HC Movement)

For few catalogs , Odata services are not automatically pulled in , have to add them manually.(ex in pic - GRC Employee content)

What causes this difference? which one is the ideal..

Pls note I have SAP_ALL , so Colleen mentioned S_RFC authorizations are covered.
