Installation Error : Visual Studio not installed

I use Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (64-bit). When installing Crystal Reports for VS, I get an error stating 'You must have Visual Studio 2010 installed to proceed with this installation' and then 'Installation ended prematurely because of an error'.

I have installed and continue to use Crystal Reports on my college computer which runs the same version of Visual Studio and Crystal Reports on Windows 8.1.

What must be causing the error on my system?
