Responsible field in cost center master data

Hi gurus,

I know it is not possible to change the mandatory field "Person responsible" (VERAK) to optional through customizing. It should be changed by user exit (it this is possible, of course). I have been looking this point (exit COOMKS1 or COOMKS02....). But I do not know if it is possible, yet. I`ve read that the field is harcoded in the ABAP code so it is impossible to change it.

Has anyone had a recent experience on changing this mandatory standard field (VERAK) to "optional" through a user-exit? Which one and how?

Thanks for your report. However, I do not need to change the responsible. I need to switch the field to optional, instead of mandatory.

Hi tikonderoga,

You can change the new person responsible KS02 --> EDIT -->Analysis Period.

Add the new analysis period, so your historical would not get impacted. Also the exit you are talking about is for new costume filed.
