Display notifications in the My Inbox app?

Hi experts,

we would like to display notifications (known as 'documents' in transaction SBWP) in My Inbox. Currently we display them but they appear as workflow items. This does not make sense as a notification does not require user action. Is there a way to configure or extend My Inbox to show these notifications as an item that requires no action, not a workflow?

We are using ECC and Gateway on premises.
