Crystal Reports - imported parameter values are changing.

I am experiencing something I have not experienced before with the imported parameter values. For example, one of the parameter value is:

CSPACE – Ventilation

I have about 80 values that have the same format, with " - " in the middle. And when I imported these values into the report's parameter, the " -" is changed to something else! It is changed to some weird character. Why is this happening? I do not want to manually enter all the parameter values.

If you're importing a Word or Excel file, then the '-' has been modified by that software to be an "em-dash", which is wider. I would go back into the file you're importing, delete the dash, and type it again before saving. If you don't do anything else in the file, this should fix the issue.

If you're importing a text file, make sure that it is ASCII encoded before importing.
