SAP HANA High Availability for SAP Business One

Hello,

I have a question regarding SAP HANA High Availability for SAP Business One, especially on virtual IP setup prerequisite.

You have configured three IP addresses: two for the SAP HANA database servers and one as a virtual IP address. In addition, the three IP addresses have the same default gateway and are on the same subnet. The virtual IP address will be managed by the cluster resource manager after the high-availability setup script.

how can I set up this virtual IP? can this virtual setup be done on Linux SLES somehow?

Regards

Greg

Virtual IP is managed by SLES, it will combine with current primary HANA instance. The virtual IP is access point as the database service. 2 physical IP is used for internal communication between Primary and secondary.

    Hi Peter,

thank you for this update. can you give me more details on how SLES will manage virtual IP setup? is it done by SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension and using HA cluster setup?

    thank you in advance!

Yes, it's handle by HAE of SUSE. VIP is one resource could binding with one of node in our 2 nodes cluster. HAE will monitor HANA status and control the takeover from one node to another. After takeover has been taken place, VIP resource will binding to new primary.

If you interesting, please find HAE document in SUSE web site.

Excuse me, to protect the DB HANA the way is clear, but to protect the B1 application what can be done? Is there an ASCS system for S / 4 that can be clustered but for B1? My architecture consists of three VMs two for HANA and one for B1

    Thanks a lot
