Addition of WEB AS ABAP to an existing EP installation

Dear All,

We have an EP implementation which is running on WEB AS

Java. Is there any way to add WEB AS ABAP to that

installation without disrupting anything. The requirement for this is we want to run BSP Pages on portal.

The versions of components are

J2EE 6.40 PatchLevel 100627.313

Portal 6.0.15.0.0

KMC 6.0.15.0.0 (NW04 SPS15)

regards

Hello Magi,

Just to clarify, in NetWeaver you cannot add an ABAP instance to an Java instance.

You can add an Java instance to an existing ABAP instance, but you not the vice-versa

If you want to display BSP's on your portal, just use the BSP's iView wizard and select a backend ABAP system were the BSPs runs.

hi luis,

I have successfully installed EHP1 composition enviornment from SDN , now i m able to work on

NWDS for JAVA and Enterprise portal . it contains java application server .

but in order to get data from ABAP Backend system from NWDS JAVA) , I don't have ABAP Backend sysytem , how to install abap backend system with abap application server in my system ????

there is one link to install Netwaever ABAP 7.1 trial version( webdynpro abap and abap application server ) in sdn but in system requirement it clearly mentioned that " make sure that there is no SAP sysytem installed in ur system " .

I need webdynpro java ,webdynpro abap and enterprise portal together but i have only webdynpro java and EP , so how to install abap as a backend system in my EHP1 ?

or any other download link which contain all three ??

is it true that in NetWeaver we cannot add an ABAP instance to an Java instance.

we can add an Java instance to an existing ABAP instance, but not the vice-versa ?? but in my case i installed java instance first , is there any solution for this ??

please help me

Hi,

it is still true - you can not add an ABAP instance to a java installation. If you like to use ABAP also just install a ABAP standalone system. Within the portal simply use iViews to connect to the ABAP system - they don't need to be in the same installation.

For more information on the installation please take a look at the install guides at SAP Service Marketplace.
