How to modify the Fiscal Year Indication in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)?

Hi all,

we are working in the Import Mode on SAP Analytics Cloud and we are using a standard time dimension for the Fiscal Year.

Actually, in the Fiscal Time settings, SAC shows only two options to denote the fiscal year:

- By year in which it ends

- By year in which it starts

Our customer, instead, would like to see the Fiscal Year like 2020/2021, 2021/2022, etc..

Does someone help us with any workaround? Are there any future steps of SAC Roadmap planned for this issue?

your question and screen captures does not provide enough detail to understand what you are asking for.

The fiscal year options in the model preferences determines what month the fiscal year starts on or ends on. But it will always be a single year of 12 months.

Are you asking for a fiscal year that spans a larger range than a single year? If so, this is not supported and I am not aware of any plans to support it.

If you are instead asking to be able to display months that span multiple years, this seems to be a story / table design issue and not related to the fiscal year settings.

I guess you want to change the name of a fiscal year(still having 12 periods) to 2020/2021 or 2021/2020, it's not supported at the moment.

It may be addressed in the future with flexible time hierarchy and attribute. But there is no clear timeline yet.

Yes, it's planned for 2022.QRC2 as part of customizable time dimension. Check roadmap here.

thank you for your fast feedback.

As you can see in the screenshot revised below, we also considered a Fiscal Year as a single year, starting from April 2019 as required by our client. The issue is that the Fiscal Time Options allow us to visualize the year like 2019 ("By year in which it starts") or 2020 ("By year in which it ends"); instead, we are asking for the possibility of visualizing it like 2019/2020 Fiscal Year.
