User search through your email

Hi everyone.

I have been asked if it is possible to enter an email in the search engine to find the profile of the person that corresponds to that email.

I read KBA's, the THR81e_EN_Col2005 manual and also asked my colleagues, but I did not receive any response that would allow me to make those settings.

Is this configuration possible?

Hi Martin

I believe that by default that is not an out of the box option for people search (please refer to : https://help.sap.com/doc/b026055929a740429adf926606efb5d6/2005/en-US/SF_PLT_People_Search.pdf)

However you may use the directory functionality to incorpoarte a custom field on BizX Profile (email) , please refer to note: https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/2751679 and for Sync of EC to People Profile https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/2363922

Obviously this is changing very quick, so it will help to raise a customer ticket and confirm before any customization (ask expert). This is my POV of how this may be solved, wont be as direct as the people search you will need to navigate to Employee Directory then from the result go to Employee data resulted from the search (but it is a way to solve it).

I will take that option into account in the event that you cannot make those settings by default
