Test Logon to SAP System failed (Solman 7.2 RS1, Windows Server 2019, MaxDB)

Hello everyone,

during installation of solution manager 7.2 rs1 on windows server 2019 using maxdb, following error message displayed:

Test logon to SAP System SSM failed.

SOLUTION: Make sure that the system is started, that the user DDIC exists and that the password of user DDIC is correct.

Searching for a solution, we read lot of blog articels. So we tried so change DDIC and SAP* Users in client 000/001 from the default password '19920706' to masterpassword (given during installation process). After trying to go on in installation, same error message displayed, so we changed password back to default password.

Moreover, we tried a new installation but same error displayed.

We no longer know how to fix the error and continue with the installation, for help you see our dev_w0 log.dev-w0.txt

Thank you.

    Hi Niklas Krings

Are you able to start the system?

Please check and paste R3trans -d output here.

It looks issue with Kernel initially.

    Best Regards,

    Atul

    Hi Niklas.

Are you performing SAP Solution Manager Installation or system copy? Could you share the details? normally DDIC password will ask only when you are performing system copy.

    Hi Niklas.

Logon to SSM system by using the SAP* user id and check the DDIC user id lock or not? I think it should be locked, unlock the DDIC user id and set the password same as master password, and then retry the same phase.

    Regards

    SS

    • Hi S Sriram,

I did logon to the SSM System using the SAP* user id. Unfortunately the DDIC user was not locked. For testing i locked the DDIC user id and unlocked it after that, changing the password to the master password in the process but to no avail. I retried the Phase but the error still occurred.

      Best regards.

    Hi Niklas.

    1. logon to sap*

    2. Using SU01 set the normal password

    3. logon to DDIC using the normal password and it will ask you set the master password.

    4. Retry the installation phase

    Regards
