Subscription Billing already priced usage

Dear SAP Experts,

a customer of us would like to know if it is possible to transfer already priced usage into Subscription Billing? The usage comes from a gas station and would include taxes too.

As we have found no field in the APIs to include the price, our solution would be to send the usage directly to SAP CI as billable items including tax amount.

Can you please confirm this or suggest another solution?

Thank you a lot in advance!

Best regards

Dear Norbert,
that could work with a charge based on percentage price model.
In this case, you define the base price defined in the percentage charge for the usage and set the ratio to 100%.
The quantity sent in the usage record then needs to be the price.
Subscription Billing multiplies then the base price with the quantity of the usage record.
However, you need to consider that Subscription Billing aggregates the quantities within a billing cycle and then rounds it up. So in fact, you need to define the price in the rate plan as 0.01 (equivalent to 1 cent) and send in the usage record the amount in cents.
E.g. if the amount is 23.45, then you can send the quantity of 2345 in the usage record, resulting in a charge of 23.45.

If you also want to have the quantity of fuel stored with the usage records, you can use a custom reference to do so.

Best Regards,
Carsten
