SWPM Netweaver 7.5 does not see Oracle installation

Dear experts,

I was installing NetWeaver 7.5 with Oracle as a database on a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and during the "Execute Service" phase, I have followed the steps as described here:

The only difference is that I was only working using a terminal, so I ran "./RUNINSTALLER -silent". After the installation, I was able to run the two additional scripts:

  1. /oracle/oraInventory/orainstRoot.sh
  2. /oracle/ORC/12102/root.sh

By going to the next step, I am prompted with this:

Trying to run the command again prompts with an error, saying that the installation might be confliting.

It's my first time installing Netweaver so please, if you need further details ask me.

Thanks and best regards,

Federico

    Federico,

Check if the Oracle installation is done according to the SAP recommendations.

Run these commands from the terminal and supply the output

    ls -la /oracle/ORC/121/bin/oracle

    ls -la /oracle/ORC/121/bin/sqlplus

If the Oracle installation is done correctly then, try this option.

Stop / Terminate sapinst GUI and processes.

Start sapinst and select "continue with the old run"

    Hi Federico,

You can follow these SAP Notes:

    • Hello Cris,

Thanks for the articles, they are helping. As I said before, I need to run the silent installation so I am focusing on that part. It specifically says:

Verify Installation Prerequisites in Silent Mode
OS> ./RUNINSTALLER [options] -silent -checkNote: Fixup scripts are not created in silent mode. In case of prerequisite check warnings you must re-run this check in non-silent mode to generate and run the fixup scripts.
Note: This check should not report any warnings. If this check reports warnings and you continue with installation in silent mode, the installation will fail.

So I link here (silentchecks.txt) the result of the first two points. It looks like the absence of swap space (which I didn't notice before in the terminal) makes the installation fail?

I have also noticed that, if one tries to run the installation script again it will ask that a new installation should be performed, as one already exists. If the issue is the swap and I need to run the installation again, is it enough to delete the partial files/folder created by the first run?

      Thanks a lot Cris,

      Federico
