Email Lite background color transparency

Hi,

When you drag a new Block into an email in Email Lite, its background is standard fully transparent. If you change the background color of the Page Content, then that color shines through in the blocks.

You can change the background color of a block to another color,

but I cannot find how to set it back to transparent again.

Does anyone know how you can make the background colors transparent again?

Thanks,

Joyca

Hi Joyca Vervinckt. I realized that you can create a new column and then drag and drop all the elements to the new one. So if you set mistakenly the background for the Column, just do this:

    1. Drag and drop a new layout.
    2. Drag and drop all the elements to the new layout.
    3. Change the text and HTML elements as mentioned before.

    Here are some screenshots:

The last thing you need to do is delete the old layout. Regards,

    Hi Joyca,

really good question. I think this is not possible until we get access to the source code in Email Lite, too, since there's no possibility to enter more than 6 characters in the Hex-field.

But I'm very curious to see if there is already any other way which I didn't found.

Hi Joyca Vervinckt. I did some tests and it's not possible since you cannot edit the HTML that selects the background color (if you see the HTML tab you'll see the "background-color:transparent" property).

As a work around (there is always something to do), I recommend you the following (I suppose you have a Text or HTML block):

    1. Insert a new block under the one you want to make transparent.
    2. Click on the "Source Code" (<>) button and copy the source code.
    3. Paste the source code of the first block into the new one.
    4. Enjoy :)

Let me know if that helped :) Regards,

    Thanks Bruno Gonzalez,

That workaround will not work for me, it's not only the blocks but also the column and row that I want to reset to transparent...

    See below,

the red block with text would work with your workaround,

but for the green (column) and blue (row) parts I'm afraid that won't work :(

Also a duplicate of the row or column duplicates the colors with it...

It's actually in some reusable blocks that we accidentally set a background color on the Column level. Which means we can only use those reusable blocks in an email with an identical background color so it "looks" like it's transparent.

So I guess the only option then is a Customer Influence request, and hope it gets implemented soon :(
