How to delete data in a field with - MASS DATA MAINTENANCE

Former Member

Dear SAP-Community,

we have made entries in a field within many hundred customers.

Now we want to change some of this entries. Changing (and adding) of entries is no problem.

However we also want to delete some of these entries in some customers. How can we do this? (It did not work, if we try to import an empty field.)

Best regards

P

Dear Phil,

That isnot possible with mass data maintenance, because if you have empty entries in the csv column this same column is not considered on migration. It is like that column doesnt exist.

Like you said, if you have entries in the column ( adding or changing) works fine. I suggest and you should use the migration tool for that and in the property set to Replace already existing records (Migration mode to overwrite existing records completely with data from the source file that has the same ID. New records are added. Any previously imported information in fields that are blank now, is lost. You can use this, for example, to overwrite master data before Go Live).

Dear Luciano, thank you for your reply. One more question: What happens to existing fields that are not mentioned in the Migration file? Will they be deleted in C4C or remain? Thank you in advance! Phillip

Hi member,

this is possible by through Data work bench.

To delete specific records in SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer system, first export data by providing relevant filters, add an additional header “ToBeDeleted” at end of the exported CSV data file, and mark the records to be deleted as “true”. Submit this modified file for “Update” operation from “Import” work center view.

Hi Phil JG,

They are ignored as well. In other words, you can't erase data on fields that are not available in migration template.

Just to inform that we can delete some data trough DWB. To perform that we need to set the column = tobedelete = true according to specific objet id. To understand that please have a look into how to work with data workbench feature.
