Comments required for changed valuated inspection results.

We have regulatory requirements that comments be entered when a valuated inspection result is changed. These comments can either be on the inspection lot inspection characteristic or on the results recording digital signature. Is there an enhancement point available in program SAPLQEEM (or other functionality) where we could cause SAP to require a comment be entered when an inspection result with status (QAMR-SATZSTATUS) value 5 (processing is complete) is changed or unlocked. Our product version is EHP7 FOR SAP ERP 6.0.

My business customer does not want to require comments either for inspection lot inspection characteristics or for digital signatures to be required all the time due to operational efficiency and users eventually treating all comment requests with reduced importance.

Thanks

I take it you already have the "documentation required" box checked in the QM view? This creates a change record but won't force a comment to be entered. For many places that is enough along with an SOP the says you must enter a comment for any change.

Most places I've seen don't require a digital enforcement of this. The reason is that you can see who made the change in the change records and then verify they put in a reason. A few audits and slapped wrists usually make this a non-issue once people realize you can track the change back to them.
