Hi experts,

I need to share a story to another user. The role of the user is BI Content Viewer, but I found that if the model used in this story is not assigned to this user, it will prompt error,

error message:

Errors Server Error (2) The table failed to initialize: Please check the permissions of the model associated with this chart. Error: undefined The table failed to initialize: Cannot read property'name' of null

"filter unavailable This filter is no longer usable because the datasource, dimension or selected hierarchy no longer exists, the dimension has a missing required hierarchy, or the dimension type has changed."

why? I just need to share this story with this user. just want this user to have permission to view this story, not edit it.

Thanks, please give me some advice.

Best Regards,

Lingling

It is not sufficient to simply share a story with a user for them to be able to view it.

At minimum, you have to also share the model with minimum view rights.

Also, if you have any dimensions that have Data Access Control set then the user will need to have at miminum view rights on the dimensions members used in the story.

A story is not a static view, it always refreshes the data from the model at opening to make sure that the most up to date data is used, so any user who wishes to view a story needs at minimum view rights on the model the story is linked to.
