VIM DP document types clean up or deletion

Hi All,

I have a requirement to delete or clean up DP document types in VIM. I think we can directly delete in SPRO bit I want to know what are all the pre measures I need to take here and is there any best way to handle it... please guide me.

Back ground: Our company is separated from a global company so, during this process other company DP document types also came into our company.So clients they don't want to see the other country DP document types in system.

Please deactivate the VIM Document Type. Deleting is not a good option.
