Data inconsistency: No storage unit number available for storage type

Hi Guys,

I have configured a new Warehouse, and in that we have HU management active. I have done all the configuration needed for HU, but still i am getting an issue while creating a TO, in the TO with respect to Inbound delivery the SU is not populating, because of that i am getting an error :

Data inconsistency: No storage unit number available for storage type

i have attached the screendhot of the error .

FYI , the warehouse, storage type for that SU management is already active .

The error message is not about any missing configuration but about problem with enhancement MWMK0001 implementation.

First of all check if you are using this enhancement at all - configuration path: Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Storage Units -> Master Data -> Define Number Ranges -> Conversion exit for storage unit management:

The value of 3 in the above setting activates the enhancement usage.

If the config activates the enhancement, check out the implementation of MWMK0001 enhancement. The message complains that the enhancement implementation doesn't return a storage unit number. So it must be buggy.

If you are 100% sure you don't use the enhancement or it's implemented correctly, you need to rise a ticket to SAP support.

Thanks for the reply, we do use enhancement, and i have figured it out what is the issue, it is really a very small config which i missed ,

Logistic general --> Handling Unit management --> Basics

--> materials management --> Inventory Management --> HU Requirement for Storage locations and Default Value for Deliveries

Here i have to check the storage location as HU managed.

This is the beauty of SAP, sometimes very common error, which will really make the consultants break their brain.

But anyways , your answer is very much explanatory.

Diagnosis

The system attempted to create a transfer order in a storage type for which storage unit (SU) management is activated. However, the transfer order item does not contain a SU number for the corresponding storage type. The creation of a transfer order would lead to data inconsistencies.This error can only occur if the customer exit for storage unit conversion is active and the customer exit cannot respond by issuing a SU number.

Procedure

Please check your customer exit. The customer exit must always issue a SU number even when no conversion of the number takes place.If your customer exit is not active, please contact SAP.

Looks like you have a bug in one of the user-exits in enhancement MWMK0001.

thanks for the reply, the config works perfect for all other warehouse with the same customization, whether am i missing any config ?

My issue is, when in create the Inbound delivery, in that the HUs are packed, and when the TO is created with respect to Inbound delivery, the HUs are not getting copied to the TO, is there any setting for that plz let me know.
