Hello Experts,

I'm trying to connect a cloud connector to the cpi, unfortunately the cloud connector doesn't appear in the connectivity settings.

Any idea?

Best Regards

René

Hi rene_kramp1,

Could you please let me know what is the configuration you are planning on Cloud platform w.r.t cloud connector.

When you login to cloud connector you could see which sub-account you are connected to.

My understanding is for inbound services we have use "cloud to on-premise" section under cloud connector.

if you are referring a document please share so that we could understand in which step are you getting stuck.

thanks and regards,

For test purposes I want to deploy an iflow in CPI sending e.g. an IDoc on my ECC using the Cloud Connector.

Hi All, I would like to chime in with this comment: I, too, have experienced the loss of the "Cloud Connectors" link from under the "Connectivity", since April 2020; and it still is continuing in the Cloud Foundry Trial accounts. I had made my comments under a different link in the same forum (https://answers.sap.com/questions/13028726/unable-to-connect-new-cf-accounts-to-cloud-connect.html?c... - please follow the link at the bottom from svbhagwat76, Posted on June 13, 2020.). There was no response. I also followed it up with a couple of SAP folks in a different forum; but no response on that front, either.

To Praveen: I have included the Before and Now screenshots in the above link that clearly show the loss of the "Cloud Connectors" link. Also, although the connection details of the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) account work perfectly well in the Cloud Connector Admin account, since there is no Cloud Connectors link present in the SCP, the On-Premise destination entries cannot function anymore.

To Sriprasad: I specifically ensured to have the roles of "Cloud Connector Administrator" and "Cloud Connector Auditor" from the respective role templates into my SCP user; still the Cloud Connectors link does not show up.

To Rene: If you want to deploy the iflow in CPI to send IDoc data from CPI to your ECC instance, you still may be able to do that without the On-premise Cloud Connector option. I will not comment whether it should be done via a direct internet connection to the ECC application server; but when the Cloud Connector option appears unavailable in Cloud Foundry trial, what options are there?

You will need to form a direct internet destination connection between SCP and your ECC system - Find out on your ECC system using t-code SMICM which HTTP and HTTPS ports are configured. You could use either the HTTP or the IDoc receiver adapter in CPI with this URL format: http(s)://<Host URL>:<Port #>/sap/bc/srt/idoc?sap-client=<3-digit SAP Client #>. There are differences between the HTTP and the IDoc adapters in terms of the IDoc payloads - With the HTTP receiver adapter, the message payload MUST have the IDoc content wrapped inside soap envelope. In contrast, with the IDoc receiver adapter, the message payload is that of the IDoc only.

I have been successful in sending a synchronous HTTP Sender <-> CPI <-> ECC scenario with a simple message mapping to convert the sender payload into IDoc that gets sent into ECC. In response, ECC sends IDoc #, which can be conveyed back to sender system. I will be happy to provide more details.

Hi rene_kramp1,

Once connection test is successful. You can connect to any on-premise system you have configured to your cloud connector system. Now you have to setup all the connectivity over cloud connector.

But how do I map the cloud connector inside CPI when it doesn't appear? Atm I'm only able to provide outbound services to the internet. I need to get inbound services working, so the cpi knows the cloud connector by Location ID.

Hi rene_kramp1,

Seems you are trying on Cloud foundry trial account hence there is a change in behavior.

Could you please confirm if you are able to connect cloud foundry sub account from cloud connector.

If you are connecting to CPI, once connected from Cloud connector you would be able to do connection test with Location ID.

Hope that helps !

thanks and regards,

Besides connection tests is it even possible to establish an in- and outbound connection from the cloud connector to a trial cpi?
