Hello Experts.
We have a SFG material xxxxxxxxxx with price control indicator "S" and proc. type "E". We have released its cost estimate at first day of the month to Rs. 2/EA . After two three days when i looked its planned price for the period through MM03 costing view 2. Its planned price still shows Rs. 2 but its MAV in the same costing view 2 below price indicator show different value i-e 6/EA.
I want to know how MAV has changes for this SFG material and from where i can trace the changes made to its MAV and what are the impact it will have.
Thank you.
Please share a detailed and simplified explanation as I am amatuer to the system.
Hi Ahsan,
If your material price control is set to S - Standard Cost, then SAP also calculate MAP for every good receipt/invoice receipt that's happening, so it can be different with standard cost you've set, and it is for informational purpose.
pls refer to this link: https://answers.sap.com/questions/6698370/map-calculation.html
and this SAP note 199409

Aulia
Hello Ahsan Shahnawaz
What you are seeing is what SAP calls statistical moving average price. Refer to the following notes for details:
2464029 - Changes in Statistical Moving Average Price
199409 - Statistical moving average price
Also check out note how statistical moving average price is handled in S/4HANA 2267835 - S4TWL - Material Valuation - Statistical moving average price General recommendation is not to use it anymore in S/4HANA.

Hello Ahsan Shahnawaz
To put it simple, SAP ERP updates statistical moving average price for materials valued with standard price. Statistical MAV doesn't have any impact on current processes, on material valuation or postings of material movements / invoices. It's just a statistical information.
Statistical MAV is calculated exactly the same way as MAV for materials valued with MAV - see SAP Help Moving Average Price: Value Calculation
