ILM Configuration

Hi,

Currently we are using Documentum to store archive documents.

Now we are planning to implement SAP ILM retention management. I have gone through few forums but could not find much information on it. Found some documents about the SAP ILM store (with Sybase IQ or HANA) but in our scenario we are using existing third party content server (Documentum).

Could you please help me the following information.

1. Is it enough to activate business function ILM if we use only retention management (not using decomissioning scenario)
2. Currently we are using ArchiveLink interface. What is WebDAV interface. Do we need to install it separately or it is part of SAP stack?
3. Which services needs to be enabled at documentum side?
4. What are the supported versions of Documentum for SAP ILM?

Any references to the documentation would be greatly helpful.

Hi Ramesh,

My answers for each of your points which are on the SAP side:

1. The ILM business function enables the content and functionality available at the framework level ( basic). If there is any business function released by application for ILM, then you need to consider activating the corresponding business functions.

2. WebDAV is a protocol for communication between ILM and ILM aware storage systems. It's basically handled by the SRS component in >NW 7.02 SAP systems.

for 3 and 4, as i am not the Documentum expert i can add only one suggestion, that is ,On the documentum side, it should have have the BC ILM 3.0 certification.
