Change log for Material Master Classification data

Hi All,

Am looking for a solution to track the change log for material master classification data.

SAP is providing a standard program(RSSCD100) to get the change log. The standard program is providing an option to get the data based on selection screen like Material, Last Changed by, From Date, To Date, Change Document number..

But our requirement is, we need classification log based on Class Name. I have verified CDHDR, CDPOS tables but in the CDPOS table there is no direct relation ship with object id and class name. CDPOS-TABKEY is storing the value Object id + Characteristic Id.

We have one more problem. A material contain more than one class in MM02. In that case we need the log for a particular class.

Thanks in advance,

Poornachand

    Hi,

By default there is no change log activated on classification. This can however be activated (never did this myself), but it is described in SAP Note 65124.

    https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/65124

Once change logs are active, you can use e.g. CL20N (Environment -> change documents) to display the change documents. (you should be able to find a link to CDHDR / CDPOS probably using the INOB table.

    Best regards,

    Hi Geert-Jan Klaps,

Change log is already activated. My requirement is for custom report. Am pulling all the materials for which a specific class is assigned.

But if Material has multiple classes assigned, there is confusion for which class am pulling the characteristics. For example if material has CLASS1 and CLASS2 assigned, am unable to find the difference for which class this characteristics correspond to. This is a technical question

You already have the identification of class so even if there are more classes you can fetch characteristic associated with that specific class. whats the confusion?

I am pasting below portion from my blog to get characteristic associated with the class. you need to associate the change log data with this flow and get the desired result.

KSSK input OBJEK and get CLINT, ADZHL, and ZAEHL

Go to KLAH, Input CLINT captured from KSSK

Go To SWOR, input CLINT from KSSK

To get characteristic associated with class

Go to KSML, Input CLINT and get internal characteristic number,
    IMERK

To know name of characteristic go to CABN, input IMERK or ATINN,
    Get ATNAM

To fetch all possible values of characteristic go to CAWN, input ATINN

To fetch value description , go to CAWNT , input internal characteristic number & internal counter

For getting characteristic values maintained in classification view at material master level

Go To AUSP, input OBJEK which is CUOBJ from INOB
