Mobile OTP Subscriptions

It looks like CDC does not allow to capture subscriptions against pure Mobile OTP accounts. It appears as though subscriptions can only be used for Email Accounts.

The Customer may expecting to capture marketing Opt ins for out Mobile OTP Customers. They can no longer do this in an easy manner. There are other things they could potentially do (e.g. add a fake email address), however this is not a good solution especially if they also want to link Mobile OTP and Email Accounts and isn’t really a long term option. Other option is to create a complete Custom Solution for managing Communication Preferences.

Could you please let me know what can be done?

Hi Magda,

While the Subscription object in intrisicaly tied to the email account, this is not the case for the Preference object, and as per Steve's reply you can add preferences to an account created using a mobile phone number only, so create your communication optin as a "other consent" per the documentation Steve linked to and you should be able to proceed.

Hi magda.bajerska for mobile only subscriptions one option that is possible today is to create an account using mobile phone number login more details are available here https://developers.gigya.com/display/GD/Phone+Number+Login. There is no need when using this flow to add a password to an account so is very similar to the lite account and in order for the user to manage their preferences and details they will need to have a mechanism to authenticate using their mobile number. To manage the subscription side you can use our Consent solution and the Other Consents to capture the Optin Communication options that can be sync'd across to marketing cloud this is documented via this link https://developers.gigya.com/display/GD/Consent+Management
