Restrict CEWB usage

Is that possible to restrict the usage of the transaction CEWB?

Here is what I'd want: give the possibility to a group of users to be able to modify (in mass) only the Bill of Materials on a specific field (bulk indicator for example):

Hello,

In an engineering workbench CEWB or in BOM maintenance CS02 you can not control the authorisation based on field like in your example Bulk material indicator.

Define Field Selection for the Engineering Workbench OPLS here you can Hide or make it Display only some fields however, it will not be user specific it will be for all user used CEWB.

May be you can use the BAdI BOM_EXIT to restrict it user specific with your own logic.

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

Actually my business need is the following one: for a certain population who already has access to CEWB -or will have- we want to prevent from changing in mass almost everything in BOM and routings. The idea is to allow this population to be able to modify in mass only some fields in BOM.

Based on your response, I understand that such a thing may not be possible without doing specific development, like developing a variant of the CEWB transaction and creating a new role to restric its usage to the concerned population, right?

Any other idea to match this business requirement maybe?
